The King’s Parade take over The Victoria in Dalston for their last show of the year.

Since the formation of The King’s Parade in 2012, the four-piece’s assured touch of melodic, crossover pop with classic Detroit blues has frontman Olly Corpe and his band evoking the credible sounds of Bill Withers, Leon Bridges and Jamie Woon.

This is a classic sound honed by musicians playing together more than 40 hours a week on a Hawaiian cruise ship. Think the Beatles’ unknown early gigs in Hamburg strip clubs and you’re about there.

It’s not just storyline though: The King’s Parade quickly proved their technical chops after joining the London circuit, securing a residency at legendary blues institution Ronnie Scott’s – and since then they’ve played tastemaker shows at The Great Escape, Bestival and Reeperbhan Festival this year as well as embarking on their first European tour including selling out London’s OSLO.

With early tastemakers including CLASH, NOTION and EARMILK expressing their admiration for their debut releases ‘Bunched Up Letters’ and ‘Silhouette’ – their new EP ‘Vagabond’ cements The King’s Parade’s status as one of the most naturally talented and hustling young blues acts this year.
